How it started

In 2018, on the initiative of the association, the first Georgia International Open Championship in massage technologies was held in Tbilisi. This event turned out to be highly resonant and contributed to the popularization of massage and its development. In 2019, Georgia became a EAMS member of the Eurasian massage confederation, and on October 12-14, 2024, Tbilisi will host the II National and VII Eurasian Championships in massage technologies.

Of The 2nd Georgian National & 7th Eurasian Regional (Georgia) Championships In Massage Technologies

1. Organization of the championship
1.1. The championship is organized by the Professional Massage Association of
Georgia

1.2. Organizer
1.2.1. The organizer is the main governing body of the championship, which carries out operational management and control of the event;
1.2.2. Approves the rules of the championship and monitors their compliance with the regulations of the championship;
1.2.3. Approves the composition of the championship jury;
1.2.4. Publishes information about the championship in the media;
1.2.5. Provides organizational, technical and methodological support in the activity of the championship and the jury;
1.2.6. Organizes the ceremony of awarding the winners of the championship;
1.2.7. Records the results of the championship.

1.3. Jury composition and formation
1.3.1. The jury is formed by the invitation of the organizer of the championship;
1.3.2. The chairman of the jury is appointed by the organizer of the championship;
1.3.3. The jury is obliged to identify the winners of all nominations without bias and with maximum objectivity;
1.3.4. The number of judges in each nomination is 5.

1.4. Jury of the championship
1.4.1. Evaluates participants according to pre-agreed criteria;
1.4.2. Participates in awarding the winners of the championship.

2. Championship structure

National and Eurasian regional championships are held simultaneously;

2.1. The national championship is held in the following categories
— Juniors (classical massage) — 30 minutes;
(a specialist with up to 1 year of work experience is considered as a junior);
— Facial massage — 30 minutes;
— Free technique — 40 minutes;
— Final — 20 minutes.

Final of The national championship will be by voting: to win the title of absolute champion, the participants in the finals will perform the 20 minutes duration program listed below, which they will meet by voting:
— Therapeutic massage of the musculoskeletal system diseases;
— SPA massage;
— Sports massage;
— Classical massage;
— Facial massage.

The 7th Eurasian Regional (Georgia) Massage Championship is held in the following categories:
— Facial massage — 30 minutes
— Free technique
— 40 minutes
— Healing massage
— 40 minutes
— Final — 20 minutes.

The final of The 7th Eurasian Regional (Georgia) Massage Championship will be by voting: To win the title of absolute champion, the participants in the finals will perform the 20 minutes duration program listed below, which they will meet by voting:
— Therapeutic massage of the musculoskeletal system diseases;
— SPA massage;
— Sports massage;
— Classical massage;
— Facial massage.

2.1.1. In the category of freestyle, participants can demonstrate any massage technique, except erotic style, and excessive exposure of intimate areas is not allowed in any type of freestyle.

2.2 Submission Stage
2.2.1. The participant defines the category himself and indicates it in the application;
2.2.2. Participants who took the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in any category in the national championship can participate in the finals to win the title of Absolute Champion of 2024 Eurasia VII Regional Championship

3. Championship conditions

3.1. Only Certified specialists are allowed to participate;

3.2. Trainers and teachers do not participate in the championship;

3.3.1 Registration of participants is carried out according to the application for participation, no later than 10 days before the start of the competition — including October 02, 2024;

3.3.2 The registration fee for participation in the nomination is:

National Championship:
Juniors (clasic Massage) — 200 GEL (150 GEL for members of the association)
In one nomination – 250 GEL (200 GEL for members of the association)
In two nominations – 400 GEL (350 GEL for members of the association).

VII Regional (Georgia) Championship of Eurasia:
Juniors (clasic Massage) — 180€ (from member countries of the confederation — 150 €)
In one nomination — 200 € (from member countries of the confederation — 170 €);
In two nominations — 300 € (from member countries of the confederation — 250€); In three nominations — 350 € (from member countries of the confederation -300€).

3.3.3. A participant is considered registered after the application has been approved by the organizing committee and the registration fee has been paid.

3.4. If necessary, consultations and trainings will be held, which will be free of charge for the members of the association.

3.5. The organizer reserves the right to disqualify a competitor for the following violations:
— Non-payment of registration fee;
— Not having a specialized education;
— Falsified education documents.

3.5.1. In case of disqualification of the participant, the organizer does not return the fee related to the registration;

3.6. Any changes during the championship will be posted on the event page and not as an individual message

4. Requirements to the models

4.1. Women and men from 18 up to the age of 55;
4.2. Models should not have contraindications for massage: skin diseases, inflammatory processes, violation of skin integrity, multiple neoplasms etc;
4.3. In the week before the competition, the models should refrain from intensive cosmetic procedures (peeling, epilation, etc.);
4.4. The appearance of the models participating in the championship should meet
Aesthetic requirements of a competition held on a platform open to the audience;
4.5. Models must wear a swimsuit and disposable slippers;

4.6. At the stage of filling out the application, the participant of the championship must indicate the presence of his own model.
4.6.1. It is welcome to invite recognizable faces as models;
4.6.2. It is possible to be provided with a model by the organizing committee4.6.3. Before the start of the championship, the models sign an agreement regarding the publication of photos;
4.6.4. The organizer has the right not to allow a model to participate if it does not meet even one point of this provision.

5. Rules and timing of the championship

5.1. Appearance of participants.

5.1.1. The appearance of the participants should be in accordance with the aesthetic and using the appropriate uniform for hygienic requirements;
5.1.2. During the championship, it is not allowed to wear jewelry, cleavage, as well as the use of perfumes and essential oils with a strong smell.

5.2. Place of work of the participant:

5.2.1. In order to participate in the championship, each competitor must be provided with equipment — a workplace, a massage table;
5.2.2. The organizing committee guarantees that the equipment it presents is completely safe;
5.2.3. In case of equipment damage, the participant undertakes to pay the cost of the damaged equipment in full;
5.2.4. The competitor has the right to use his own accessories: towels, bed linen and other attributes;
5.2.5. The participants of the competition undertake to follow the safety rules;
5.2.6. At the end of the procedure, each participant arranges his workplace;
5.2.7. Between each shift, participants are given 15 minutes to tidy up their workplace;
5.2.8. The jury has the right to deduct points from the contestant in case of leaving the workplace untidy;

5.3. Before the start of the championship, a drawing of lots will be held, during which the numbers of the participants will be distributed.

6. Evaluation procedure (Criterias) of the participant of the championship

1. Ethics and Delicacy— combination of norms of behavior in relation to the client. Protection of honor and dignity of the model in public space. Culture and respectful attitude towards the client, referees and others — 10 points;

2. Aesthetics — compatibility of the working environment, massage therapist and model with the content of the program — 10 points;

3. Ergonomics — optimal working conditions, biomechanically correct management of the body of the patient and masseur — 10 points;

4. Mastery and professionalism — Performing the presented program technically, subtly and consistently, following the rules and requirements of the declared type of massage in order to achieve the intended goal — 15 points.

7. The participant’s points will be deducted in the following cases

1. Violation of the regulations — 2 points;

2. Violation of hygienic norms — 2 points;

3. Excessive exposure (intimate areas) – 3 points;

4. Inconsistency between the techniques indicated in the application and shown — 3 points.

8. Copyright

8.1. Each Participant formally agrees that the Organizer and Sponsors will publish the photo-video material on any platform for purposes related to the Championship without payment to the Participant:

• On the web pages and information resources of the organizer, sponsors and part-ners;

• at any event with a similar theme;

• in press releases, which provide information about the championship;

• as an advertisement in the press.

9. Results of the championship and awarding of participants

9.1. Event results will be summarized at the end of the championship;

9.1.1. First, second and third places will be determined according to the results.

9.2. Additional nominations are determined by the jury’s decision:
— The people’s favorite;
— The discovery of the championship;
— The best debut;
— Creativity;
— The best ethno-massage;
— The best thematic entourage;
— Young SPA Master;
— The best team;
— The Jury’s special prize;
— Wisdom and experience;
— Innovations.

9.3. The winners get

— diplomas confirming participation in the championship;
— prizes and gifts from the partners of the event;
— gifts from the referees;

Presents from the organizing committee:

— for 3rd place — 30% discount on seminars held by the Professional Massage Association of Georgia in any country;

— for the 2nd place — 50% discount on seminars held by the Professional Massage Association of Georgia in any country;

— for 1 place — free training at seminars conducted by the Professional Massage Association of Georgia in any country;

— The winner of the VII Regional Championship of Eurasia will participate in the finals of the Eurasia Championship for free, with a substantial prize fund (the country and time will be announced additionally).
